Following is the text of speech by Mrs. Mayam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance before a cheering crowd in Brussels on Januray 27

My fellow compatriots,
Friends of the Resistance,
The obstacle of the terrorist allegation has crumbled. The spell has at last been broken. With perseverance and determination, you courageously rose above the flames of injustice and rendered law and justice victorious. Your resistance established the right of the Iranian people to struggle for freedom. This marks a decisive turning point on the course of democratic change in Iran. It is the beginning of a momentous era and a prelude to the liberation of our enchained homeland.

Text of speech by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance at press conference held by the International Committee in Search of Justice (ISJ) in Brussels on January 27.

“The Legal experts declared today that the decision by the Council of Ministers to maintain the PMOI in the terrorist list on France's initiative lacks any legal standing. This decision betrays the rule of law. In order to respect the rule of law and the views expressed by the European parliamentarians, the EU must immediately remove the PMOI from its list”, Maryam Rajavi said in Brussels on September 16.

Speaking to an International Conference entitled, “The Tolerant Islam against Fundamentalism”, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance called on the followers of Prophet Mohammad to rise to establish a decisive demarcation between fundamentalism and theocracy. She said, “The PMOI represents a bright and tolerant Islam. That is why it enjoys a broad popular base in Iran and has many supporters in the Middle East.”

A memorial ceremony for the late Lord Russell-Johnston was held at the residence of Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the Iranian Resistance, in Auvers-sur-Oise, north of Paris. Participants, including British parliamentarians, French dignitaries and many other French and Iranians expressed condolences to members of Lord Russell-Johnston's family in this ceremony. In a speech, Mrs. Rajavi paid tribute to this great friend of the Iranian Resistance.

The day will come when the exhilarating dawn of freedom will embrace the lives of the Iranian people: Freedom of expression, freedom of belief, freedom of religion, freedom of the press and freedom of clothing.

We say to the ruling henchmen [in Iran]: “The judgment of history and the resolve of the combative people of Iran will pierce all cell blocks, prisons, and walls, and will crush you.”

When our Resistance eventually triumphs, it is not only Iran that will be free. Our triumph will save human society from the dangers of the ogre of fundamentalism and revive such values as human solidarity.

Ironically, while Ahmadinejad’s train to nuclear weapons has no gears or brakes, his foreign interlocutors seem to only have a reverse gear.
