On Easter Monday, March 28, the President-elect of the Iranian
Resistance visited the "boat chapel" Je Sers in
Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, north of Paris, where she was received by
Father Arthur Hervet, a well-known philanthropist who heads "Sailors'
Diocese", a humanitarian group dedicated to provide aid and comfort for
sailors, the poor, the homeless and refugees.
Father Arthur invited Maryam Rajavi to his chapel to take part in
Easter celebrations and talk to the volunteers working in the charity.
Mrs. Rajavi, accompanied by a number of Iranian Resistance
personalities, began the visit by laying a wreath at the statute of
Mary in the chapel.
In greeting Maryam Rajavi, Father Arthur said, "I am honored to host
you in my church; you who work so hard for democracy, liberty, and
peace in Iran and Iraq. We keep you and members of the resistance
movement in our prayers. We pray for you who struggle for peace and
those who are in Ashraf and elsewhere. I thank you again for your
presence here that is heartwarming for us who have gathered here from
different countries".

Raymond Charpentier, vice-president of the Society of Seamen, told Mrs.
Rajavi, "I greet you on behalf of all our members. This ship is the
symbol of our society, founded by Joseph Bellanger, a French
humanitarian pastor, in 1935".
Mr. Charpentier described the history of the ship and the how it was
converted into a chapel to provide social service and shelter to the
needy.
In the gathering of the volunteers and friends of the charity, Father
Arthur introduced Mrs. Rajavi to his colleagues and a young girl, a
refugee from Chechnya, played a piano recital. A young Arab refugee
then recited verses from the Qoran and a pastor from the International
Light and Faith Movement presided over the special prayers for Easter.
This movement offers protection and support to children whose parents
are physically or mentally handicapped.
Father Arthur said, "we have friends from Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan,
Romania, Morocco, Algeria, and Africa living with us here."

Father Arthur said, "As we gather here to celebrate Easter, let us
remember those who are not here among us today, including the victims
of the repression in Iran. Men like Professor Kazem Rajavi, who was
assassinated in Geneva." |
