A delegation of French citizens delivered the statement to Elysée Palace
On Tuesday, a delegation of French citizens representing three hundred thousand people who had signed a statement calling for a full revocation of all restrictions against the Iranian Resistance and supporting Mrs. Maryam Rajavi to bring about democratic change in Iran delivered the petition to the Elysée Palace. In the statement, the French citizens reiterated, “An end to appeasement policy vis-à-vis the clerical dictatorship in order to support Maryam Rajavi, leader of the democratic opposition, and putting an end to restrictions which this opposition has been a victim of is consistent with French values and a step towards democratic change in Iran.” The statement by the French citizens emphasizes, “Unjustly labeling the People’s Mojahedin, the main force within the resistance movement, as terrorists deprives the Iranian people from their basic rights. Remove them from the blacklist. This is the only way to prevent a foreign war while the mullahs are an increasing threat to peace and security in the Middle East and the world.” The signatories noted, “The coming to power of a known terrorist is a long and torturous journey from religious fascism to a more totalitarian one. Appeasement of the Iranian regime has no meaning other than that of participation in the suppression of the Iranian people and effectively gives the mullahs a green light to export terrorism and fundamentalism.” Dozens of mayors, hundreds of political personalities, cultural and religious figures, hundreds of lawyers and jurists, and well known artists in France are among the signatories.
