Appeasing the religious dictatorship in Iran has been justified by calling it support for the “moderate” Rafsanjani or “reformist” Khatami. That policy has become a scandalous failure and today the most extremist factions of the mullahs’ regime control all the levers of power.

Friday, 23 June 2006

it is outrages that she should be hampered in her efforts by the proscription of the PMOILord Waddington, Conservative Member of the British House of Lords' message to Ashraf City, saluting the gathering of 10,000 Iraqi's on anniversary of 17June's unjustified raid by French police on the offices of the NCRI in Paris:

By the time you receive this message, you will be that, three years ago, the French government as part of a trade deal struck with the regime, agreed to attack the offices of the NCRI in the outskirts of Paris. I am sorry that I am not able to be with you today to remember this occasion with you but I hope some day soon I will be fortunate enough to visit Camp Ashraf of which I have heard so much.

I was horrified to learn that agents of the regime had attacked a bus carrying a number of Iraqi civilian workers to Ashraf city and I send sympathy to the families of those who died and wish speedy recovery for those who were injured.

Recently I had the honour of meeting Mrs Rajavi and she deserves the admiration of us all as she struggles to bring freedom and democracy to Iran.

We in Britain who wish to help her in this struggle believe that it is outrages that she should be hampered in her efforts by the proscription of the PMOI, we want her to be free to travel to the capitals of the world to explain to the worlds leaders how democracy can be brought to Iran and the world rid of a regime which threatens worlds peace and we will do all that we can in Britain to see that this injustice is removed.

I wish you well on this day and I wish you well in all your efforts.
I believe that freedom and democracy will soon come to Iran and I applaud you now  for standing up to an evil regime.

I hope that June 17th will be a special and wonderful day for you.
