Bob Filner on Iran: To prevent war, we must support the Iranian people and their resistance - Maryam RajaviBob Filner, member of Congress from United States of America sent a message of solidarity to the Iranians gathering for a democratic change in Le Bourget, France.

Like millions of people around the world, we were very happy to hear that the Paris Courts of Appeals revoked all restrictions on members of the Iranian resistance group, the MEK, who were detained almost three years ago. The announcement was made by Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, on the third anniversary of the restrictions. She said that "Today's ruling is one to be jubilant about. Yet, it is also very painful because for three years these unjustified restrictions disrupted our legitimate and legal activities to expose the clerical regime's atrocities.”

This Iranian regime has been condemned 52 times by the United Nations for violations of human rights. Since Ahmadinejad became President, there have been 150 cases of execution reported by the regime’s media. Religious and ethnic minorities are being suppressed brutally. Any sign of dissent has been crushed in Kurdistan and Khuzistan.

Iran is defiantly continuing its nuclear weapons program that it managed to keep secret until 2002 when revealed by the Iranian Resistance.
Ahmadinejad’s platform is to increase the suppression, crush dissent and press on with the nuclear weapons program.

5, 200,000 Iraqis have joined in a declaration saying that in order to prevent war, we must support the Iranian people and their resistance for a democratic change in Iran.

In order to prevent war, we must support the Iranian people and their resistance for a democratic change in Iran.

And Ms. Rajavi,
We look forward to seeing you soon in America.
