"As the world mourns the loss of Pope John Paul II, I would like to offer the most profound condolences of the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance to Your Eminence and to the Catholic Church.
"The departure of John Paul II on his eternal journey has brought immense loss and grief to human beings everywhere, who share his passion for peace and justice. For 26 years, "the servant of the servants of God" traveled around the world, spreading the message of Jesus Christ; peace, mercy, friendship and justice. {mosimage}In a message of condolences to His Eminence Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi offered the consolations and prayers of the Iranian people and the Resistance on the passing away of Pope John Paul II.

"The Supreme Pontiff was greatly distressed by the contemporary Pharisees and peddlers of religion in my homeland, Iran, where repression and carnage are carried out in the name of God.

"I pray to God that He may gather his faithful servant, the man who so strongly believed in the coming together of the three monotheistic religions of the world. I pray for his blessed soul and say, in the words of the Koran, "For Him we live and to Him we shall return" and, in the words of the Bible, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build."
