Speech at the European Parliament
Wednesday, 27 March 2013 00:00

Mr. President,
Honorable Representatives,

I am delighted to be here and meet you at the Seat of Democracy in Europe.

We have come together at a time when the religious fascism ruling Iran is utterly weak and desperate. Overwhelming discontent has turned the Iranian society into a powder keg. The ruling clique has fragmented into hostile factions and the internal power struggle has reached an explosive stage leading up to the presidential election.

The revolution in Syria and the uprising by the people of Iraq has put the mullahs’ regional alliance on the brink of collapse. Iran’s rulers are terrified of the tide of change in the Middle East and the resistance’s internal and international advances have exacerbated the mullahs’ anxiety. To forestall its inevitable overthrow, the regime has stepped up its efforts in three different fronts.

Speech at international women's conference
Monday, 11 March 2013 00:00

Dear Sisters,

I am so delighted to see all of you who have gathered here today, representing  women of the world.

On the occasion of the International Women's Day, let me congratulate all of you and my sisters in Iran, in the prisons and around the world, as well as the 1,000 heroines in camps Liberty and Ashraf.
As an activist for gender equality, I commend the spirit of this historical day and the splendid prospects it promises, and I salute all the struggles and sacrifices women have made everywhere.

But, at the same time, my heart aches with anger and sadness.
Anger and sadness because a century after this day was first declared as International Women's Day, violence, rape, murder, attacks with acid, torture, discrimination and exploitation still rein supreme over the destiny of women in vast parts of the world.

I am also angered and saddened by the chronic inequality and degradation that pains women today even in some of the most developed countries around the world.
I am angered by the stubbornness of the glass ceiling which has deprived so many competent women the world over, including those on the dais here, of leadership roles and heads of states in various countries.

I am angered and saddened by the western governments' appeasement of the religious fascism ruling Iran, which represents the beating heart of fundamentalism and misogyny.

Speech for the representative women of the Arab world
Sunday, 10 March 2013 00:00

“Women: A Force for Change and Against Fundamentalism”

Dear Sisters, Distinguished Parliamentarians,

I welcome you to the headquarters of the Iranian Resistance, my dear sisters, who have come here from Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, and other countries.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, I pay tribute to all those women who fight for freedom and equality around the world. We have risen up to put an end to the suffering of our people, and especially the anguish of women in Iran, in the region and around the world.
We all know that to the extent that we succeed in abolishing oppression against women anywhere, humanity as a whole will be that much more liberated, too. I think realizing equality demands an enduring struggle, which must never end. Dear sisters, you know full well that the eradication of suffering among women requires a great deal of sacrifice, particularly and before anyone else, sacrifices made by women themselves.

Speech at United Nations – Geneva
Saturday, 02 March 2013 00:00

United Nations - Geneva February 28

Distinguished friends,

I salute all of you and extend gratitude to the organizers of this conference.
We pay homage to the late Danielle Mitterrand, who was a strong advocate of Ashrafis in international forums for many years.

She came to the UN headquarters to defend the rights of the Ashrafis many times.

But the last time, in October 2011, in a conference in this very building, Mr. Michel Jolie read her message for us, in which she said, “My dear and beloved friends in Ashraf, preparing for tomorrow is accomplished through your sacrifice. And everyone must look for the example which you envision for the oppressed; the message of hope that your write with your blood for humanity.”

And now, Ashrafis were forcibly transferred to Liberty Prison, where they were massacred.
