Iranians chanted "Welcome" to the head of the Iranian opposition on her arrival in Estonia

Delfi, November 11 - The leader of the Iranian opposition in exile Maryam Rajavi arrived Sunday evening in Tallinn. A large number of her compatriots living in Scandinavia came to welcome joyfully shouting: "Welcome!" Tunne Kelam MEP and MP Juku-Kalle Raid were among the dignitaries who welcomed her.

Juku-Kalle Raid told Delfi that Maryam Rajavi came to Estonia on their call for a three-day visit, she has planned a series of meetings, including with members of parliament.

EU joins bid to help end Iraqi Camp Ashraf standoff

BRUSSELS, September 26, 2011 (AFP) - EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton has appointed an advisor to mull over the fate of thousands of outlawed Iranians facing expulsion from a camp in Iraq, their home for 30 years.
A spokesman for Ashton said Monday that Jean De Ruyt, Belgium's former ambassador to the EU, will act in Brussels "as an advisor on the European Union's response" to Camp Ashraf, located near the border with Iran and home to some 3,400 Iranian dissidents.

Rajavi appears at a major conference in Rome

Following the intensification of the crisis in Camp Ashraf and the international community's attempts to find an urgent solution to this humanitarian crisis, today at a conference in Rome, the majority of both Houses of Parliament along with U.S. politicians and human rights defenders supported the solution proposed by the European Parliament.

This is an invitation announced today at the Italian Parliament.

“Iran opposition head rejects U.S. plan for Iraq camp”

Reuters reported from Rome that Iran opposition leader rejected a U.S. plan for relocating Ashraf residents in Iraq, saying the plan would lead to a massacre.”

“In April, the camp was the scene of clashes between residents and Iraqi security forces, during which 34 people were killed, according to a U.N. investigation,” Reuters said.
