MP Delivers Resolution of Support to Iranian Opposition

ERR News (Estonian Public Broadcasting) - 22 June - At a rally held in Paris during the weekend, Chairman of the Human Rights and Political Freedoms in Iran Support Group in Parliament, Juku-Kalle Raid, delivered a resolution of support to the Iranian opposition.

Juku-Kalle Raid told uudised.err.ee that the resolution condemns the recent Iraqi Army attack on Camp Ashraf and demands elementary political rights for Iranian citizens. 

According to Raid, he met with the Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi to hand over a resolution of support that had been signed by 12 MPs.

Tens of thousands of Iranian Mojahedin demanding protection for Ashraf

VILLEPINTE - "Iran, Ashraf, Azadi (freedom)", cheered tens of thousands of supporters of the People's Mojahedin (PMOI) on Saturday near Paris. They were celebrating 30 years of resistance "against the Iranian regime and called for international protection of Camp Ashraf in Iraq.

"The resistance will not die," their leader Maryam Rajavi told a cheering crowd with many people like the former mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, also in attendance.

RFI, June 18 - Tens of thousands of exiled Iranians and supporters gathered together to support their cause on Saturday, June 18, 2011, near Paris. The annual meeting was held in the presence of many international and American political figures.

This year the meeting of People's Mojahedin (PMOI) took on particular importance after the attack last April on Camp Ashraf in Iraq by the Iraqi army. Camp Ashraf is home to 3,400 residents opposed the regime in Tehran. 35 people were killed. Many French officials and foreign dignitaries attended the gathering to support the cause of the exiled opposition.

Large gathering of Iranian dissidents (Le Parisien)

Le Parisien, 18 June – It was a large rally for political mobilization but also a call for an issue of humanitarian urgency. This afternoon, tens of thousands of people will gather at the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte, invited by the French Committee for a Democratic Iran, and
the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which includes opposition parties against Tehran regime.

At the heart of this meeting was the plight of Iranian refugees in Camp Ashraf in Iraq, home to 3,400 people, which was violently attacked in April by the Iraqi army leading to  the death of 30 refugees.
