Maryam Rajavi: You are the primary independent and democratic force for change in Iran

Fellow compatriots and supporters of the Iranian Resistance,
I salute you, who know no weariness in the struggle for the freedom of Iran.
I salute you, who have risen with all your might to defend the Iranian people’s national demarcation against the dictatorships of both the Mullahs and the Shah, and all manifestations of tyranny and dependency.
On June 20th of this year, Massoud (Rajavi) addressed each of you in a message, stating: “Proving the viability of the independent and democratic alternative rests upon the shoulders of Iran’s brave sons and daughters. Blessed are your resolute wills, which through relentless struggle have raised the banner of the provisional government announced by the National Council of Resistance.”

Shattering the Regime’s Strategy

Today, the remnants of the regime live in a nightmare of impending uprisings. They tremble at the consequences of the mass slaughter during the January uprising—and indeed, of the 48 years of suppression, massacre, and the simmering rage of a deeply dissatisfied society. For this legacy has awakened and driven the young generation to confront the regime.
They are trapped beneath the ruins of their own warmongering policies; yet, to preserve their dying regime, they continue to clamor for war. Their ideology and hypocritical, reactionary religion have been utterly disgraced, their sinister strategy shattered, and their hollow unity fractured. The Assembly of Experts, the Parliament, the ruling institutions, and even the Revolutionary Guards are plagued by deep divisions and infighting.
Outside the regime, the Shah’s son—who was eager to welcome war and the bombardment of Iranian cities, hoping to fashion a crown for himself from the crimes of the mullahs—has been further exposed and disgraced before the people of Iran, and utterly discredited in the eyes of the world.
On the international stage, the very truth you have championed for years has now been proven—a truth you can now repeat with pride: neither appeasement of this regime, no matter how much it flexes its muscles, nor war and regime change from the air, is the solution.

The Path to an Independent and Democratic Iran

The solution lies in the very force and rival that has, for 48 years, driven the regime to the depths of ruin and the verge of overthrow.
The solution is the overthrow of this regime by the hands of the Iranian people, through an organized uprising, the Resistance Units, and the Liberation Army.
Just these days, the British government has finally designated the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. This decision, of course, is a long-overdue obligation on the part of Western governments. I hope this marks the end of their silence toward the execution of political prisoners, and that the British government will officially recognize both the Iranian people’s struggle to overthrow the regime and the fight of the Resistance Units against the terrorist IRGC.

Fellow Companions of the Resistance!
Now it is you who hold the key to unlocking this great deadlock. It is you who are advancing and taking the offensive.
Just a month ago, at the June 20th rally in Paris, the world saw you with its own eyes. You courageously demonstrated that nothing can stand in your way, nothing can stop you, and that you will shatter every conspiracy and break through every dead end.
Taking the resolve of the Resistance Units and the resilience of PMOI members at Ashraf as your model, you became their voice and the voice of the Iranian people, proving your unwavering determination to achieve freedom and democracy.
Today, the majority of Italy’s representatives in both the Senate and Parliament stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you and the people of Iran, backing the provisional government and the resistance movement.
You are the primary independent and democratic force for change in Iran.
Against the clerical regime’s inhuman policies of execution and slaughter, it is you who stand as the defenders of the heroes in chains and the exposers of this regime’s bloodshed.
And it is you whose hearts beat in unison with the Resistance Units, the Liberation Army, and the PMOI freedom fighters, serving as their powerful backbone.
Therefore, wherever you are, make it your duty to support the units of the Liberation Army every single day, every hour, and by any means possible.
