Maryam Rajavi’s Message of Condolence on the Passing of Sir Geoffrey Bindman

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sir Geoffrey Bindman, a distinguished British lawyer, renowned human rights defender, and long-standing friend of the Iranian Resistance. He was one of the most enduring and influential figures in the world of law, dedicating his life to the cause of justice and human rights.
Sir Geoffrey played a pivotal role in securing the removal of the unjust “terrorist” designation against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI). Through his persistent and courageous efforts, this case was ultimately won in a historic process, culminating in four consecutive rulings by the Proscribed Organizations Appeal Commission (POAC) and, finally, the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
The clerical regime placed him on its blacklist. Yet Sir Geoffrey Bindman regarded this as a “badge of honor”, boldly stating that if defending freedom and justice is a crime, he was proud to commit it.
I offer my condolences to his family and friends on the passing of this distinguished lawyer and wish them patience and strength in their loss.
His name and memory will endure among the compassionate defenders who stood with the Iranian people in their struggle against religious fascism, remaining by our side through the most difficult times.
