PMOI Announces Names of 224 More Martyrs, Bringing Confirmed Total to Over 1,000

• Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: These martyrs symbolize the will of a people who have risen for freedom. The EU must immediately designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization; further delay is unjustifiable. Recognizing the right of the people and the Resistance to change the regime and the right of the youth to fight against the IRGC is an urgent and necessary step.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Wednesday, January 28, 2023, the names of 224 more martyrs of the nationwide Iranian people’s uprising following extensive verification. Twenty-five of these glorious martyrs are women, and 21 are children and adolescents aged 3 to 17. The PMOI has so far published the names of 1,005 martyrs of the uprising, including 125 women and at least 65 children and adolescents.
The verified martyrs include 248 in Tehran province, 127 in Isfahan province, and 107 in Gilan province.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, offered her sincerest condolences and sympathies to the relatives, friends, fellow citizens, and comrades of those who lost their lives on the path to freedom. She stated that these martyrs symbolize the will of a people who have risen for freedom, independence, and justice.
The international community must take action in the face of this great 21st-century massacre. Any further delay by the European Union in designating the IRGC, the main perpetrator of this crime against humanity, as a terrorist organization is unjustifiable. Recognizing the right of the Iranian people and the Resistance to change the regime and the right of Iran’s youth to fight against the IRGC is an urgent and necessary step. Other essential measures include prosecuting the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and other leaders for over four decades of crimes against humanity and genocide, and cutting off the economic lifelines of the ruling mullahs.
