Maryam Rajavi : Salute to the Martyrs of Iran’s Freedom

Salute to the martyrs of freedom.
Salute to the grieving mothers and fathers who seek justice.
At this moment, I stand with you, beside the mothers and fathers who know no day or night as they search for the pure bodies of their children.
I stand with you, those whose hearts are set ablaze upon seeing the lifeless bodies of their beloved sons and daughters.
I stand with the young women and men whose entire being is filled with rage and grief after losing a sister, a brother, a friend, or a fellow comrade in struggle.
Khamenei’s Revolutionary Guards and their proxies turned the streets into killing fields. They gunned down men and women, teenagers, and even defenseless children. They fired directly at protesters, at close range, with utter brutality, aiming at heads, necks, hearts, and eyes with live ammunition. They murdered a five-year-old child in his mother’s arms. From rooftops and pedestrian bridges, they sprayed civilians with gunfire. They stormed hospitals, arrested doctors and medical staff, delivered execution-style “final shots” to the wounded, and blinded so many young people.
This is a regime that has survived from its very inception solely through mass killing: from the widespread executions of the early 1980s, to the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988, to the brutal suppression of protesters in 2019 and 2022, and now to the nationwide massacre unfolding today in at least one hundred cities across Iran.
Yet this bloodthirsty demon of reaction, even through such killings, will not be able to preserve a regime that is already mortally wounded.
This massacre will set in motion an immense avalanche that will come crashing down upon the entirety of the regime.
From this sea of blood will rise a storm of uprisings, a rebellious generation, and thousands of determined valiant battalions.
The thousands of heroes whose crimson blood colors Iran’s streets today are the immense price of Iran’s freedom. Their blazing epic and their names will endure forever, not carved on stone, but living in the hearts of free people.

And it is you who today make their names eternal, by carrying them through funeral processions and acts of remembrance, with cries of freedom and chants of “Death to the dictator.”
It is my solemn oath and our shared pledge to carry their cause and their demand, freedom and the sovereignty of the Iranian people, to victory.
