Meeting with Emanuelis Zingeris and Senator Joe O’Reilly, Vice Chairpersons of the Group of European People’s Party at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)

Maryam Rajavi met with Mr. Emanuelis Zingeris from Lithuania and Senator Joe O’Reilly from Ireland, Vice Chairpersons of the Group of European People’s Party at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
During the meeting, she elaborated on the major crises engulfing the ruling clerical regime in Iran and the deadlock it faces. She emphasized the explosive state of Iranian society and highlighted the readiness and activities of the rebellious youth and the organized resistance.
Mrs. Rajavi pointed out that, especially after suffering significant defeats in the region, the regime has resorted to increased executions and brutal repression in an attempt to prevent its downfall. Simultaneously, it has intensified its efforts to acquire a nuclear bomb.
She added that the Iranian Resistance has declared it has no objection to compelling the regime to “drink the poison of abandoning its nuclear ambitions.” The term “nuclear poison” is a reference dating back to Khomeini’s acceptance of the ceasefire in the Iran-Iraq war, and is now used within the regime to describe the prospect of relinquishing nuclear weapons and halting uranium enrichment.
Mrs. Rajavi stressed that the issue of “nuclear poison” is synonymous with the erosion of Khamenei’s hegemony, which inevitably puts the regime’s overthrow on the horizon.
Senator Joe O’Reilly congratulated the Iranian Resistance on its recent revelations about the regime’s nuclear program, stating that this demonstrates the Resistance’s strength and social base. He added that it is remarkable how, despite all the repression, the Resistance continues its activities inside Iran. Senator O’Reilly also emphasized the growing support for the Iranian Resistance among lawmakers in Ireland and within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Mr. Zingeris praised the unique role of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and Mrs. Rajavi in presenting a true image of Islam and exposing the regime’s crimes committed under the guise of religion.
He remarked that the 10-point plan, and the fact that a Muslim movement like the PMOI/MEK advocates for a democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state and gender equality, is a valuable and guiding model for the Islamic world.
