Ordibehesht 1404: 158 Executions in Iran; 1,211 in 10 Months of Pezeshkian’s Presidency

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: The surge in executions exposes the regime’s fear of public outrage, but this savagery only fuels further unrest.

With the brutal execution of at least 13 prisoners on May 21, 2025, the total number of individuals executed under Khamenei’s execution machine this month reached 158, making Ordibehesht (April 21-May 21, 2025) the bloodiest months in recent year. The actual number of executions in this month is higher, which will be updated later.
Among those executed were four women and two individuals who were under 18 years old at the time of their alleged crimes. On average, more than five people were sent to the gallows each day.
Of the executed, 29 (19%) were Baluch compatriots. 76 individuals (48) were executed in connection with drug-related offenses—cases linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
On May 21, the following individuals were executed:
• Jaber Shahkaram Zehi, 38, in Isfahan
• Alim Barahouei, Jahanshah Afshari, and Morteza Arayeshgar in Qezelhessar Prison
• Yasin Hosseinzadeh in Karaj
• Naser Dahar, Ghanbar Ghaffari, and Noureddin Mohammadzadeh in Birjand
• Rouhollah Ghahremani in Tabriz
• Saeed Kashani in Hamedan
• Nader Mostafavi in Yasuj
• Abdolrahim Nazari in Zahedan
• Mirwais Barik Zehi in Yazd Prison
On May 20, in addition to those mentioned in the previous statement, the following were executed:
• Meysam Khazaei in Qom
• Yousef Esmaeili and Abdoljabbar Jamalzi in Bandar Abbas
• Ali Asghar Alami in Damghan
• Abdollah Pashan, 36, in Kahnuj
On May 18, Armin Bahrami in Karaj and Hashem Mirzaei, 29, in Ahvaz were executed.
On May 17, Ahmad Bani Asadi in Borazjan, and Adnan Labbeikpour as well as another prisoner with the name of Reza in Ilam were executed.
On Wednesday, May 14, Jafar Ghorbani, 35, and on Sunday, May 11, Mohammadamin Kolsoomi in Isfahan were hanged.
Thus, since August 2024, during Pezeshkian’s ten months in office, at least 1,211 prisoners have been executed—a record of cruelty and ruthlessness unmatched in the past three decades.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated that the continuous rise in executions reveals Khamenei’s and the clerical regime’s deep fear of an uprising by the Iranian people. However, she emphasized that such barbarity and the mourning imposed on growing segments of society will not prevent the regime’s inevitable downfall. On the contrary, it only intensifies public outrage. Mrs. Rajavi stressed that the international community’s inaction has emboldened the clerics to escalate their atrocities and crimes. She called on the UN Human Rights Council, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and all human rights organizations to take urgent action to save the lives of prisoners on death row. The case of the regime’s crimes must be referred to the UN Security Council, and its leaders must be brought to justice.
