Iran: 16 More Executed on Sunday and Monday; Pezeshkian’s Execution Toll Reaches 1,302

176 Executions in May – 141% Rise from 2024
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: The shocking toll of executions is an attempt to prevent uprisings, but it only strengthens the people’s resolve to overthrow the mullahs’ regime.
With the execution of 16 prisoners on Sunday and Monday, June 1 and 2, the total number of executions during Pezeshkian’s tenure (since August 2024) has reached 1,302. The number of documented executions in May 2025 stands at 176, which marks a 141% increase compared to May 2024 (73 executions). This level of cruelty and bloodshed is unprecedented over the past three decades.

According to additional reports from within the country, beyond those whose executions in Ordibehesht (April 21-May 21) were previously announced, Esmaeil Moradi, Hamid Asadi, and Saeed Karimi were also executed at Qezelhessar Prison in late Ordibehesht.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, described the shocking record of executions under Pezeshkian as a futile attempt to confront internal and external crises and prevent a popular uprising. She stated that such actions only further strengthen the people’s determination to rid the country of religious fascism. She added that inaction in the face of these crimes, along with engagement and trade with this medieval regime, only encourages crime and terrorism in today’s world.
