Maryam Rajavi meets and holds talks with Ambassador Lincoln Bloomfield, former US Assistant Secretary of State

On Monday, October 30, 2023, Maryam Rajavi met and held talks with Ambassador Lincoln Bloomfield.
Amb. Bloomfield has served as the former US Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, US President’s special envoy for man-portable air-defense systems threat reduction (2008-2009), and US Vice-President’s Assistant for National Security Affairs.
Lincoln Bloomfield has three academic writings about the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran and the Iranian Resistance in 2011, 2013, and 2015, entitled:
Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) and the Search for Ground Truth about its Activities and Nature, The Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK)—Shackled by a Twisted History, and The Ayatollahs and the MEK.
In their meeting, Mr. Bloomfield and Maryam Rajavi discussed the situation in Iran, as well as the ongoing conflicts and crises in the Middle East. Specifically, they addressed the war and turmoil in Gaza, focusing on the role played by the clerical regime in fostering belligerence and exporting crises, often under the guise of “exporting the revolution,” which effectively equates to the propagation of reactionary fundamentalism. Furthermore, they discussed the issue of exploiting the Palestinian cause, a matter that has persisted since the 8-year war with Iraq.
Referring to the Iranian regime’s destructive role in creating crises in the region over the past decades, Ambassador Bloomfield emphasized the need for specific measures. He stated that undoubtedly, as far as the regime is concerned, we must consider the closure of its embassies in foreign countries and the exposure of its agents who operate under the guise of diplomats. Furthermore, we should enhance shipping protection in international waters and impede the regime’s oil shipments by sea.
As far as the recent crisis and war, Ambassador Bloomfield said that I believe the root of this problem lies in Tehran. In fact, if Iran were to have a democratic government with policies aligning with the principles outlined in your Ten-Point Plan, especially in the realm of foreign policy, we would not have witnessed this crisis.
While underscoring the international standing of the Iranian Resistance, Ambassador Bloomfield observed, in recent years, particularly in the last two years, many former world leaders have thrown their support behind the NCRI. This clearly demonstrates that your leadership within the Iranian opposition has gained widespread recognition. The regime’s propaganda and accusations against you have been effectively countered and invalidated.
He further mentioned that during this period, numerous officials who have previously served in both the US government and various European governments have visited and endorsed your policies and plans for the future of Iran. Ambassador Bloomfield asserted that in my opinion, such a situation is a testament to your unwavering commitment to the enduring principles of this Resistance, the sacrifices you have made, and the price you have paid. Your steadfast adherence to these principles, along with the credibility and legitimacy of your Resistance leaves no room for doubt regarding the future of a democratic Iran.
Maryam Rajavi expressed her appreciation for Ambassador Bloomfield’s extensive years of dedicated efforts, notably his academic contributions, research, writings, books, and insightful speeches. She described these efforts as being instrumental in revealing the mullahs’ campaign to demonize the Iranian Resistance, shedding light on the precarious state of Iranian society, the persistence of widespread protests and demonstrations, and the regime’s reliance on an escalating wave of repression and increased executions to instill a climate of fear and thwart the possibility of an uprising akin to the 2022 Iran protests.
Maryam Rajavi discussed the increasing spread of resistance activities within Iran, with a particular emphasis on the actions of the Resistance Units targeting IRGC centers and the repressive forces of the regime, which have instilled fear within the regime. She pointed out that it was clear that, following the 2022 uprising, Khamenei would employ the well-known method of religious fascism to create foreign crises and conflicts. The regime uses these foreign crises as a shield to suppress uprisings and maintain its survival. The clerical regime has a significant stake in warmongering and crisis, much like how the 8-year war with Iraq was sustained to ensure the regime’s continuity. In this regard, Khomeini described the war as a “divine blessing.”
The Iranian Resistance firmly maintains that the sole authentic and resolute solution to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and the instability and conflicts in neighboring countries is to target the head of the snake of religious fascism in Tehran and overthrow the Velayat al-Faqih dictatorship at the hands of the Iranian people and their Resistance.
Rather than persisting in a policy of appeasement toward the Iranian regime, Western countries should align themselves with the aspirations of the Iranian people and their desire to overthrow the mullahs.
