Maryam Rajavi’s meetings at the European Parliament

Maryam Rajavi had separate meetings with several MEPs at the European Parliament during her visit. In these meetings, she provided an overview of the situation in Iran, including the regime’s actions, the ongoing uprising, and the role of the Iranian Resistance. She called for a firm policy against the mullahs’ regime.
Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that the Iranian people are against appeasement of the religious fascism ruling Iran. She highlighted that this policy has primarily benefited Khamenei while making the Iranian people and the Resistance its primary victims over the past 34 years.
The people of Iran want the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the mullahs’ Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) designated as terrorist entities, and the closure of the regime’s embassies.

In a meeting with Ms. Ljudmila Novak, MEP from Slovenia, she welcomed Mrs. Rajavi’s presence in the European Parliament and reiterated that the EP would continue its support for the Iranian Resistance. Ms. Novak saw the meeting as the beginning of further collaboration in the future, as MEPs strive for democracy and freedom for the Iranian people.

Mr. Nicola Procaccini, co-chairman of the European Conservatives and Democrats (ECR) group in the EP, highlighted the significant support in the EP for Mrs. Rajavi’s leadership role and the pivotal role women played in the Iranian Resistance. He emphasized that MEPs are well aware of the regime’s dissemination of false information and demonization tactics, which have lost their impact.

In another meeting, Italian MEPs Alessandro Panza and Susanna Ceccardi praised the prominent role of women in the Iranian Resistance movement. They emphasized that while the mullahs’ regime poses a threat to countries in the region and globally, the Resistance movement serves as a model for resolving issues. They stressed the importance of adopting a firm policy and implementing strong sanctions against the mullahs’ dictatorship.

In her meeting with Maryam Rajavi, Ms. Isabel Wiseler-Lima, MEP from Luxembourg and rapporteur for the European People’s Party, expressed the West’s incomplete understanding of Iranian society and the immense pressure faced by the population, especially girls and young women. She commended Mrs. Rajavi’s courage and resistance against the repressive regime in such dire circumstances.
