Maryam Rajavi Meets with Charles Michel, President of the European Council until 2024

Maryam Rajavi met in Brussels with Charles Michel, who served as President of the European Council from 2019 to 2024 and as Prime Minister of Belgium from 2014 to 2019. They discussed the latest developments in Iran and the European Union’s policy toward the country.
Mr. Michel stated: From my previous positions, I have dealt with several presidents of the Iranian regime and there is no difference among them. They all follow the same line and a single policy. Therefore, the experience is clear: this regime is incapable of reform. The solution for Iran lies in regime change by the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance.
Maryam Rajavi commended Mr. Michel for his stance, calling it a model for European leaders. She described the explosive situation inside Iran, emphasizing that mass arrests, the surge in executions, and intensified repression are the other side of the regime’s fear of an impending uprising and the growing strength and activities of the Resistance and its Resistance Units.
Maryam Rajavi added that the regime is deploying all its forces, including security forces in the streets, to prevent an inevitable uprising. “This is why the time has come for the international community to abandon appeasement in all its forms,” she said, “and to recognize the right of the Iranian people and Resistance, especially the Resistance Units, to confront the regime’s repressive forces. Only then will the people of Iran be convinced that Europe stands with them, not with the clerical rulers.”
