Maryam Rajavi Meets with Patrick Kennedy

Following the major Brussels rally, where Patrick Kennedy marched in the front ranks and addressed the crowd, Maryam Rajavi met with him for discussions.
Patrick Kennedy is a well-known figure in the United States, having represented Rhode Island in Congress for 16 years, from 1995 to 2011.
Maryam Rajavi commended Mr. Kennedy for his steadfast support for the Iranian people and their defiant youth. She outlined the expanding activities of Iranian youth with the Resistance, noting that Khamenei is trying to fend off an uprising through intensified repression and executions, but will inevitably fail.
Patrick Kennedy congratulated Mrs. Rajavi on the highly successful Free Iran gathering marking the 60th anniversary of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). He stressed that now is the time for a broad international consensus to impose broader sanctions on the regime, just as the world once sanctioned South Africa over apartheid.
Addressing the surge in repression and executions in Iran, Mr. Kennedy said this is an issue of great concern to the American public. He added that holding those responsible for these crimes to account is a matter on which the U.S. Congress could consider introducing a resolution.
