The West is making the same mistake with Iran as with Hitler

NCRI – On November 7, Maryam Rajavi, met the First Vice-President of the Norwegian Parliament, Carl Hagen. Mr. Hagen welcomed Mrs. Rajavi on behalf of the Stortinget (Parliament).

Stressing his support for the Resistance, Mr. Hagen added: Your situation is similar to Norway’s during the Second World War. At that time, we resisted inside the country and we formed a government in exile in Great Britain. You and this exiled government are similarly fighting to liberate your country.

Outlining the political situation in Iran, Maryam Rajavi stressed that the mullah were carrying out nuclear arms development, as well as terrorism and meddling in Iraq and the wider Middle East due to their regime’s weakness.

Hagen expressed approval of the positions of the Iranian Resistance about the threats to peace and security in the world by the mullahs’ regime. He said: We said that the West was repeating the same mistake as Chamberlain did just before the Second World War. After negotiating with Hitler, he said he had the peace treaty into his hands and that this peace was the peace of this era. But we saw what a catastrophe it was. Today, I think that in the same way that we should not have trusted Hitler, we should not trust fundamentalism.

He added: Today European officials are afraid to resist against terrorism but we have to think about our safety and fight fundamentalism. We must be aware that the terrorist operations we see are funded by the Iranian regime.

We have to support moderate Muslims in the face of fundamentalism which seeks to impose its conceptions in European countries, he said. He insisted on the need for the international community to isolate the Iranian regime as the only way to deal with this regime. Thus, the West has to forgo its economic interests in Iran.

Hagen, who heads the Progressive Party, stressed that he and his party supported the Iranian Resistance and hoped the Norwegian government would support it against the mullahs’ regime, just as it supported the ANC against the Apartheid.

We believe the third option proposed by the Resistance is the only realist solution to the Iranian crisis and we are going to make every possible effort to remove the name of the Mojahedin from the terrorism lists of the European Union and the United States, he added.

While expressing gratitude to the parliament’s vice-president for his support, Mrs. Rajavi presented him with a book containing the names and particulars of tens of thousands of martyrs of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran.
