Wave of brutal executions continues: 9 executions in two days

Monday, execution of 5 prisoners, including 4 young Kurdish compatriots; Sunday, 4 executions, including two young Baluch brothers
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi strongly condemned the escalating wave of executions and inhumane punishments, calling for immediate action to save the condemned and urging an international fact-finding mission to visit Iranian prisons.
This morning, Monday, January 29, Ali Khamenei’s regime executed four young prisoners of Kurdish origin: Mohsen Mazloum (Maroufi), 27, from Mahabad; Mohammad (Hajir) Faramarzi, 28, from Dehgolan; Vafa Azarbar, 26, from Boukan; and Pejman Fatehi, 28, from Kamyaran, in Qezelhessar Prison. The regime’s judiciary had sentenced these prisoners, who were arrested in August 2022 and tortured into forced confessions, to death on charges of spying for Mossad in September 2023. The verdict, which was issued by the Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, was confirmed by the regime’s Supreme Court. Additionally, another prisoner named Ali Rajabian was executed in Qezelhessar Prison today.
On Sunday, January 28, in another criminal act, two brothers named Aref Es’haq Zehi, 24, and Asef Es’haq Zehi, 30, along with Rouhollah Shakery, 21, were hanged in Birjand Central Prison, and Mohammad Reza Ghorbani, 45, was hanged in Qezelhessar Prison.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), strongly condemned the inhumane crimes of Ali Khamenei, especially the increasing wave of executions and brutal and inhumane punishments such as finger amputations and eye gouging. She once again called for urgent action by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Human Rights Council, and relevant UN rapporteurs to save the lives of thousands of death-row prisoners and emphasized the need for an international fact-finding mission to visit Iranian prisons and meet with prisoners, especially political prisoners.
