Ms. Gerkens, Belgian parliament deputy from the Green Party Ms. Gerkens said, “My colleagues and I in the Belgian Parliament are trying our utmost to remove the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran from the European Union’s list of terrorist organizations.

Europe has acted inimically in accusing the Iranian nation’s legitimate resistance that is fighting for peace and democracy of terrorism. Most importantly, this unfair designation diverts our struggle against terrorism and lets the real terrorists off the hook.”

Ms. Gerkens, Belgian parliament deputy from the Green Party, met with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the Iranian Resistance’s President-elect at, at her residence in Auvers-sur-Oise, Friday, September 3.

Ms. Gerkens said, “My colleagues and I in the Belgian Parliament are trying our utmost to remove the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran from the European Union’s list of terrorist organizations. Europe has acted inimically in accusing the Iranian nation’s legitimate resistance that is fighting for peace and democracy of terrorism. Most importantly, this unfair designation diverts our struggle against terrorism and lets the real terrorists off the hook.”

The Belgian parliament deputy condemned the violations of human rights in Iran. She said majorities in the Belgian parliament and Senate supported the Iranian Resistance and Mrs. Rajavi. Ms. Gerkens, commended the prominent role of women in the leadership and management of the Iranian Resistance and described it as the Resistance’s profound commitment to democracy and equality.

The Belgian MP underscored, “The Green Party and I support the September 13 rally by Iranians in Brussels and its goals, particularly the call the remove the terror tag against the People’s Mojahedin.”

Mrs. Rajavi expressed gratitude for the extensive support by the Belgian Parliament for the Iranian Resistance. She said the Iranian people and Resistance is ready to establish democracy and popular sovereignty in Iran. It is asking the world community to remain neutralized between the people and the Iranian regime.

Mrs. Rajavi added, by accusing the Iranian Resistance of being terrorist, the United States and the European Union have regrettably helped prolong the clerical reign and given it freer rein to suppress, execute and engage in terrorism.
