Iran: Coronavirus death toll in 347 cities passed 78,800

– Iraj Harirchi, Regime’s Deputy Health Minister: Out of a population of 83 million, about 73 million are red. About 25 percent of the country’s deaths are due to Coronavirus. Of course, the main catastrophe occurred in Tehran, and it’s the third-highest in terms of the number of patients and deaths

– Harirchi: Some from Albania are campaigning against holding the University (entrance exam) and would like to disturb our peace …

– Governor of Tehran: We have about 4,500 Coronavirus patients hospitalized. 40% of the critically ill patients in the country are in Tehran Province

– Shiraz University of Medical Sciences: 19 people died in the past 24 hours, the highest record in 24 hours since the beginning of the outbreak

– Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: The unprecedented spike in Coronavirus across the country and the regrettable number of victims are entirely the results of criminal policies pursued by Khamenei and Rouhani. The current situation was both predictable and preventable. The Iranian Resistance and many domestic and foreign experts had warned about it repeatedly. This is a manifest case of crime against humanity. Overcoming Coronavirus, as is the case with overcoming poverty, high prices and unemployment, as well as containing the destructive impact of flood and earthquake in contingent upon overthrowing the clerical regime and establishing people’s sovereignty, in which case all of our nation’s resources will be utilized for advancing and improving people’s lives.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 347 cities across Iran had passed 78,800. The number of victims in Tehran is 19,600, Khorasan Razavi 5,903, Mazandaran 3,640, East Azerbaijan 2,320, Fars 2,020, Kerman 1,155, Yazd 885, Ardabil 865, Central Province 815, Zanjan 735, Ilam 630, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 510, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 405.

The spokesperson for the regime’s Health Ministry announced the state-controlled number of victims in the past 24 hours as 196 deaths and 4,027 patients under intensive care. Speaking to IRNA today, she announced that 26 provinces are in a state of red or warning, and said, “We are witnessing a rise in the Coronavirus outbreak in Golestan Province again. The number of hospitalizations in this Province has doubled in the past six weeks, and the cities of Gorgan, Kordkuy, Minudasht, Gonbad Kavus, and Aq Qala have a steeper slope in the spread of the virus. In Kerman Province, 12 cities are red, and seven cities are in the state of alarm. During the past six weeks, the number of hospitalizations in the Province has doubled, and we are witnessing a steeper slope of the outbreak in the cities of Kerman, Jiroft, Baft, Zarand, Rafsanjan, and Sirjan.”

While regime officials admit that the number of Coronavirus victims is rising every day, outraged by the revelation of the infighting between regime factions, and the extent of the Coronavirus catastrophe, in his cabinet meeting today, Rouhani said, “Earlier this year, despite the spread of the virus, the enemy was interested in the war between forces and divisions… To those who want the mourning ceremonies to be canceled, [I] say that they will not be canceled. To those who want to question the mourning ceremonies by causing a surge in the outbreak, we will not allow that either,” reported IRNA today.

At the same time, speaking on the University Entrance Exams, Iraj Harirchi, regime’s Deputy Health Minister, told Tasnim today, “Follow the propaganda line and see where it comes from; Some are looking for (more) followers and some in Albania are campaigning against this issue, and want to disturb our peace. If we hold the Entrance Exam, some people say do not, and if we do not hold one, some will say, ‘Look, how messed up the country is that they cannot even hold the Entrance Exam.’ Therefore, we must be careful not to play into their hand and do what is in the best interest of our country.”

This is while Harirchi told the State TV last night, “Out of a population of 83 million, about 73 million are in a red state. Most of the virus-free provinces are red. Of course, the main catastrophe occurred in Tehran, and it’s the third-highest in terms of the number of patients and deaths. As the number of inpatients is increasing, the mortality rate is likely to increase for two weeks. Today’s deaths in the country due to the Coronavirus are about one-fifth of ordinary yearly deaths.”

Alireza Raisi, another Deputy Health Minister, told ISNA news agency, today, “Out of 457 cities in the country, only 37 are virus-free. A hundred and five are yellow, and the rest are orange and red.”

Tehran’s Governor Anoushirvan Mohseni told the state tv channel 5, yesterday, “I announced two weeks ago that yellow conditions for Tehran mean red as far as we are concerned. Presently, the number of those hospitalized is 4,500, and 40 percent of the very ill are in Tehran Province. When we adopted soft policies and allowed travel, these are the results we see today.”

In Fars, vice president of the Medical Sciences University was quoted by Mehr news agency yesterday as reporting the death of 19 people in the past 24 hours, the highest number of fatalities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In East Azerbaijan, the president of the medical sciences university in Tabriz was quoted by ISNA as saying today, “The average number of daily deaths in the past week in the Province was 14. Bonab, Ahar, Charoymaq, Haris, Varzaqan, and Tabriz have the highest fatalities, respectively.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said: The unprecedented spike in Coronavirus across the country and the regrettable number of victims are entirely the results of criminal policies pursued by Khamenei and Rouhani. The current situation was both predictable and preventable. The Iranian Resistance and many domestic and foreign experts had warned about it repeatedly. This is a manifest case of crime against humanity.
