Maryam Rajavi meets Senator Thom Tillis, a senior member of the Judiciary, Banking, Finance, and Veterans’ Affairs committees

Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Maryam Rajavi had an online meeting with Senator Thom Tillis, a senior member of the Judiciary, Banking, Finance, and Veterans’ Affairs committees and co-chair of the Human Rights and NATO parliamentary groups in the US Senate.
Senator Tillis reiterated his support for the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) in Ashraf 3 and emphasized their fundamental rights and freedoms within the framework of international laws. He said that we in the US Senate and the House of Representatives support Ashraf 3, which has played an inspiring role for the Iranian people and youths who yearn for a democratic republic.
Senator Thom Tillis was an advocate of MEK’s protection and rights at Camp Liberty, Iraq, and their safe and secure relocation out of that country.
While condemning the policy of appeasement and offering concessions to the clerical regime, Senator Tillis said that the correct policy on Iran is the policy of regime change and support for the Iranian people who want to overthrow the regime.

Maryam Rajavi expressed her gratitude to Senator Tillis for his support and activities in favor of the MEK in Ashraf, and said, “The Iranian regime is terrified of the inspiring role Ashraf 3 has played for the people of Iran. Therefore, it is doing everything to deal blows at the Mojahedin wherever they are, put pressure on them and disrupt their daily life.”
“It is no secret that the clerical regime demonizes the MEK and spreads false information against them through its infiltrators in the US. The MEK plays an undeniable role in the Iranian people’s historical resistance and their successive uprisings, something that the regime acknowledges and complains about,” she added.
Mrs. Rajavi added, “The 2022 uprising left no doubt that people of Iran want a regime change and will not be satisfied with anything less. The situation will not go back to what it was before the September 2022 protests. We will continue our struggle until the freedom of our country and we are determined to pay any price necessary for the liberation of our people.”
She pointed out, “We are not fighting to gain power, but to transfer power to the people of Iran. A democratic and non-nuclear Iran founded on the separation of religion and state, that lives in peace and friendship with its neighbors instead of exporting fundamentalism, terrorism, and warmongering, is indispensable to peace and stability in the Middle East and throughout the world.”
