Maryam Rajavi: Continued protests by pensioners and retirees reflect the Iranian people’s resolve to gain their rights

Hail to the deprived pensioners and retirees who have risen up. Their chants of “our baskets are empty, enough with oppression” and “we can gain our rights only by taking to the streets” echo the cries of all the oppressed people of Iran who have become fed up with poverty under the mullahs’ evil regime.

So long as this corrupt regime is able to continue its rule, our people will have to continue to grapple with poverty, discrimination, inflation, high prices and unemployment. The continued protests by pensioners in Tehran, Ahvaz, Yazd, Tabriz, Kermanshah, Zanjan, Arak, Ilam, Khorramabad, Karaj, Ardabil, Mashhad, Isfahan, Rasht, Sanandaj, Shiraz, Bojnourd, Qazvin, Neyshabur, Kerman, Sari, Shahroud, Shushtar, Dezful, and Abadan reflect the resolve of all the people of Iran to restitute their stolen rights. Their most important right is the right to national sovereignty which the mullahs’ religious dictatorship has usurped.
